Hayes Valley
The Greater HoodIn the 18th century, Ohlone tribe natives would gather food in the Mission Creek area, including seasonal Hayes Creek which is now underground year-round. Hayes Valley was thickly covered with wildflowers every spring, and teeming with wildlife. Today, the Hayes Valley Farm keeps that same outdoor spirit alive, providing education for those interested in urban agriculture. The farm houses its own bee colony, which ensures pollination for the diverse arrangement of plants.
